Sara Campbell, from our Bristol office, has recently signed up to trek the Great Wall of China in September 2012 in order to fundraise for the cancer charity Ovarian Cancer Action.

Ovarian Cancer Action is a charity that is close to our hearts. Here at Norton Accountancy a close friend of ours has recently beaten Ovarian Cancer and it has highlighted to us the severe lack of awareness of Ovarian Cancer.

Ovarian Cancer Action aims to raise awareness and fund research into treatments. Ovarian Cancer is easily treatable if picked up early and by creating awareness of the disease and the symptoms many more lives can be saved. Astonishingly 90% of women diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer experience persistent symptoms yet only one in four are diagnosed at early stages in the UK. The trek itself is going to be a huge challenge for Sara; it involves 6 days of trekking over hard terrain and a lot of steps! The training and fundraising efforts have begun already and Sara is 100% committed to hitting her goal of raising £4,000 for Ovarian Cancer Action.
