Jane Norton FMAAT

Jane Norton - Norton Accountancy LtdJane Norton founded Norton Accountancy in 1985 after attaining her AAT (formerly IAS) in private practice in Bristol. Jane is now a fellow member of the Association of Accounting Technicians recognising her continued professionalism and experience gained in 30 years of practice.

With three children under the age of three leaving the security of employment to start a business was certainly a bold move. However this decision perfectly demonstrates Jane’s character; a driven, ambitious, people person who always puts others first. At that stage in life Jane felt strongly about being able to spend quality time with her children and working from home was the obvious solution.

Jane’s drive and ambition meant that soon the business was too large to run from home and the business now operates from offices in Bristol and Cardiff with 15 employees looking after the needs of over 1,500 clients throughout South Wales and the South West.

As will become apparent if you meet Jane, she is not your stereotypical accountant. She is a very outgoing, generous and selfless person and this shows in both her professional and personal relationships. Jane’s motto for success is clients first, staff second, self third. Jane thrives on challenges and thoroughly enjoys solving problems for her clients. Having built up a successful business herself, Jane is well positioned to help you grow and develop your business.

When not helping clients, Jane supports numerous charities and organisations and actively encourages others to do the same. She was trustee for Spike Island for 5 years and continues to support the Child Poverty Action Group by supplying services free of charge. Most recently Jane has become actively involved in sponsoring 15 women to set up their own businesses in Africa.

Outside of professional life Jane can normally be found either at local restaurants with family and friends or at home entertaining guests. In her spare time Jane unwinds by listening to music, reading, gardening and has a moderate addiction to Facebook.
